The Japanese Developed a New Multi-Functional Vending Machine
The revolutionary “vending machine 2.0” by the Sanden and Okaya companies was introduced in Japan at the end of December 2011.
The vending machine is equipped with a 65" transparent full HD touchscreen allowing the visitors to browse through and choose from a variety of snacks.
As soon as somebody approaches the vending machine, the in-built system recognises the gender and the approximate age of the person and according to these characteristics generates appropriate adverts. Pictures, photos, text or animations may be shown on the screen in HD quality.
In addition the device records statistics and brings interesting information about the time the customer spends by watching the screen or what sort of information catches his eye the most.
The device can currently be found only in Japan but in the future we can expect its expansion into the United States.
